pre-alpha released and steam page wip

Good things are happening

We’ve been working on getting cardbob out there for a while, apart from streaming the development process on twitch whenever we can, we’ve also invested time in getting everything else that a full release may need ready in order not to overwhelm ourselves later on.

the pre-alpha is out!

The pre-alpha of the game is out and can be downloaded, played (we really recommend using a controller, as keyboard support is subpar at best), and reviewed! We even put in a bug and feature reporting tool right in the game which can be activated at any time by hitting F1.

The game features only the very core of the loop at the moment, one could say it’s barebones however that is enough for us to find out how well the game plays and whether our developers’ ideas align with what people enjoy playing, as we make further progress on the development of the game the following features will be added:

  • items (loot, dropped)
  • shop functionality (selling items in your shop)
  • immortal system (permanent upgrades bought by the currency generated by the shop)
  • bosses

the aforementioned features is what will finalize the game loop in its full beauty and bring the complete experience of the game to you, the player :)

we love roguelites

It’s not by chance that we’re making a roguelite, we love playing games where one makes progress by repeating the core gameloop, becoming both better at the core mechanics, understanding the game and last but not least unlocking upgrades that increase the chances for an OP run.

steam page!

The work on the steam page has begun, it’s a tough job getting the tags right, making sure that the descriptions work well for the intended purposes and the capsule art… oh the capsule art! We shared our first attempts with a friend who was kind enough to absolutely blow us out of the water with his work, this image right here is his, he’s kindly given us the permission to use it and we’re in love with it!

also here’s a sneak peak at the short description we’ve crafted so far:

We plan on releasing updates on itch whenever anything of value is added to the game, until we get a steam demo up and running, from that point onwards we need to check terms and conditions, however we would love to keep both the itch and steam sides updated 1:1.

ready to play?

Here’s a quick overview of the controls so that you know what to be pressing!
